In this wildlife themed jigsaw puzzle we feature four zebras on a grassy plain. Zebras are generally social animals that live in small harems to large herds. There are three species of zebras: the plains zebra, the mountain zebra and the Grevy's zebra. Zebras live in a variety of habitats, such as grasslands, savannas, woodlands, thorny scrublands, mountains, and coastal hills. The plains zebra (Equus quagga) is the most common, and has or had about six subspecies distributed across much of southern and eastern Africa. It was previously believed that zebras were white animals with black stripes, since some zebras have white underbellies. Embryological evidence, however, shows that the animal's background colour is black and the white stripes and bellies are additions.
